Logan County Blizzard Support

At 18:45 on April 13th, 2018 Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery was contacted by Logan County Office of Emergency Management requesting 5 teams from Search and Rescue-Emergency Support be put on stand-by. Teams were then additionally requested by Washington and Yuma counties. Ten vehicles as well as 1 Mission Chief were activated at 22:50 and dispatched to Sterling. Blizzard conditions were present in the area and numerous calls came in from stranded motorists needing extrication. Conditions were persistent throughout the region consisting of sub-freezing ambient temperature, blowing snow and winds exceeding 60 mph. 11 persons and 3 dogs were extricated and at least 23 additional vehicles cleared. All teams were cleared from action at 05:10.
