Colorado Springs Gas Line Struck

At 10:38 on October 13th, 2018 Colorado Springs Fire Department dispatched Engine 8 and Battalion Chief 2 to the 2700 block of Alteza Lane for a report of a gas line struck. After hearing the call go out Engine 6 requested a nature of the incident. Dispatch then informed Engine 6 of the incident notes, after dispatch did so Engine 6 was placed out of service in order to return to quarters and respond to the incident with Haz-Mat 6. At 10:46 Engine 8 arrived and reported that there was construction in the front yard and that Engine 8 investigated. Battalion Chief 2 then arrived at 10:48 and took over incident command. Engine 8 reported to incident command that there was a feeder near the residence and that Engine 8 was going to attempt to place a clamp on the broken gas line, Haz-Mat 6 then arrived on scene to assist. The gas line was clamped by Engine 8, and Command 4 was released and units began to be released from the scene at 11:02.
