Colorado Springs Structure Fire

At approximately 19:10 on August 26th, 2018 the Colorado Springs Fire Department dispatched Engine 9 to the 400 block of Maplewood Dr. for a smoke investigation. While enroute dispatch updated Engine 9, reporting that dispatch was receiving multiple calls for an explosion at the same address and upgrade the incident to a working structure fire. Engine 9 then reported a large header of smoke while still enroute. At 19:15 Engine 10, Truck 9, Truck 10, Rescue 17, Haz-Mat 14, Squad 8, Battalion 3, Battalion 4, 73(EMS Liaison/PIO), X-Ray 193(Fire Investigator), and AMR Medic 11 were toned out for the Working Structure Fire Assignment. Engine 9 arrived within 8 minutes of the initial dispatch reporting fire on the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie sides. Engine 9 then pulled a supply line and established Maplewood Command. Engine 10, Truck 10, and Truck 9 arrived at approximately 19:20. Engine 10 pulled at second supply line and started fire attack. Truck 9 assumed R.I.T. and Truck 10 began the primary search. At 19:25 Maplewood Command upgraded the incident to a second alarm structure fire, dispatching Engine 2, Engine 6, Truck 1, and Battalion 2. At 19:30 Rescue 17, Battalion 3, and Battalion 4 arrived on scene; Battalion 3 took over command sending Engine 9 to assist with fire attack and Rescue 17 assumed R.I.T group from Truck 9, sending Truck 9 to work on ventilation. Once on scene the second alarm was cancelled and Haz-Mat 14 arrived and assumed Safety Group at 19:59. At 20:00 X-Ray 193 arrived and the fire was reported under control. Companies began to be released at 20:30. There were no injuries and the fire is still under investigation.
