Vehicle Into Power Pole

At approximately 20:20 on November 24th, 2018, the Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Colorado Springs Fire Department Engine 17 and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Communications Center dispatched Cimarron Hills Fire Department Ladder 1331 to a reported motor vehicle collision on Powers Blvd south of Palmer Park Blvd. AMR Medic 1381 arrived on scene, and advised dispatch that a vehicle had struck a power pole and that the victim was trapped inside. While en route, Engine 17 then requested Rescue 17 and a Battalion Chief to respond. Dispatch then assigned Truck 8, Battalion 2, Rescue 17, and 73(EMS Liaison/PIO) to the call. Once on scene, Engine 17 assumed Powers Command from Ladder 1331. Rescue 17 joined the Rescue Group with Ladder 1331 and Engine 17. The Rescue Group then extricated the patient and turned over the patient to AMR Medic 1381 at 20:35. Truck 8 and Battalion 2 arrived and staged on scene. At 20:38 Truck 8 returned into service, and Battalion 2 remained on scene. The patient was transported to an area hospital, and companies began to return into service at 20:53. The collision is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
