Colorado Springs Vehicle vs Tree

At approximately 16:00 on October 31, 2018 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Colorado Springs Fire Department Engine 1 and Squad 8 to a reported motor vehicle collision on E Platte Ave, west of N Logan Ave. While en route Engine 1 had read the call notes and requested that a Working Trapped assignment be filled out, and to be moved to Command 4. Truck 8, Battalion 1, Rescue 17, and 73(Public Info.Officer) were then dispatched to the incident. At 16:09 Squad 8 arrived and reported the vehicle suffered heavy damage and that vehicle was on the sidewalk. Engine 1 then arrived, established Logan Command, and assisted Squad 8 and AMR with patient care. Truck 8 arrived on scene at 16:23 and assumed the Rescue Group position. At approximately 16:30 the patient was extricated and the transported to an area hospital by AMR Medic 15. Rescue 17 was then cancelled and at 16:37 companies began to be released from the scene. The collision is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
