Colorado Springs Apartment Fire

At approximately 21:50 on August 29th, 2019 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to the 3400 block of Knoll Lane for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival Engine 10 arrived and reported nothing showing and began to investigate. Once Engine 10 made entry they report light haze of smoke and active fire and requested a working fire assignment. Once the incident was called a working fire, Battalion 2 requested a 2nd alarm. Engine 7 and Engine 10 driver began to set up water supply, while the rest of Engine 10 began to fight the fire on tank water. Truck 10 then reported a small kitchen fire in a single apartment, which appeared to be out while conducting the primary search. Once the primary search was complete Truck 10 Irons began overhaul and horizontal ventilation. The 2nd alarm and working fire assignments were then canceled as well as Engine 17, Rescue 17, and Truck 8 of the initial response. The scene was then handed over to fire investigators.

Initial Response: Battalion 2, Engine 10, Engine 7, Engine 17 (Canceled), Truck 10, (Using Reserve Truck 1), Rescue 17 (Canceled) & Truck 8 (Canceled)

Working Assignment (Cancelled): Battalion 4 (Canceled), Squad 7 (Canceled) & HazMat 6 (Canceled)

Special Call: Brush 16, X-Ray 194 (Fire Investigator), X-Ray 197 (Fire Investigator) & 73 (PIO/EMS Liaison)

American Medic Response: Medic 29

2nd Alarm: (Canceled) Engine 14, Engine 20, Truck 9 & Mobile Command 1
