At 17:15 on March 14th, 2018 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Colorado Springs Fire Department Engine 15, Haz-Mat 14 and Battalion 4 to the 5000 block of Culpepper Court for an odor of gas. On scene, Engine 14 reported the RP was digging up a tree in the front yard and struck a gas line. Engine 15 established command, charged a 1 ¾ inch attack line and began to dig up the gas line. Engine 15 then requested an additional engine company due to a mechanical issue. Engine 20 was dispatched to the incident and was quickly canceled due to the problem being solved. Battalion 4 arrived and assumed command from Engine 15. Haz-Mat 14 arrived and assisted Engine 15 with clamping the line. Haz-Mat 14’s officer ran a readings check through the house with no readings found. Units were then released from the scene and handed the scene to Colorado Springs Utilities to repair the line.

Initial Response: Battalion 4, Engine 15 & Haz-Mat 14

Special Call: Engine 20 (Cancelled)
