On June 4th, 2019 at approximately 20:05 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Tia Juana St. for a possible structure fire. On scene, Engine 7 reported smoke showing from a bravo side vent and continued to investigate. Engine 7 made entry into the structure and pulled a primary attack line due to moderate smoke conditions from inside the structure. Battalion 2 then requested a working fire assignment. Engine 8 pulled dual supply lines, while Truck 8 was assigned to ventilate and Truck 1 staged as the RIT Team. Engine 7 found a small amount of fire coming from a kiln and quickly extinguished the fire with a pump can. Truck 8 opened a roll-up door on the Charlie side for natural ventilation. At 20:23 the working fire assignment was canceled and crews began to pick up. Units remained on scene until 21:01. The fire is not currently under investigation.
