Pikes Peak Ave Fire

At 19:42 on May 27th, 2019 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to the 4200 block of Pikes Peak Ave. On scene, Engine 8 initially reported nothing showing from the structure. Once Truck 8 made entry, they reported heavy smoke conditions coming from the structure and continued to investigate looking for the main body of fire. Engine 8 assumed fire attack, while Engine 7 pulled water supply. Truck 8 was able to extinguish the main body with the pump can they brought in and requested a 1 ¾ inch attack line from Engine 8 for hot spots. At 20:03, Rescue 17, HazMat 14, PIO 73, and Battalion 1 were canceled by Command. Both primary and secondary search came up clear, Truck 10 and Squad 8 were then released from the scene. After the Fire Program was then requested for approximately 6 residents being displaced. Once investigators arrived, crews remained on scene until 21:50. The fire is currently under investigation.
