Vehicle Fire Within Building

At approximately 22:40 on August 29th, 2019 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to 676 S. 8th St. for a possible structure fire. When units arrived on scene they reported smoke coming from the bay doors of the auto repair facility and called the incident a working fire. When crews entered the structure they reported heavy smoke conditions and reported the main body of fire was a vehicle on fire within the building. At 00:03 on August 30th, 2019, the fire was called under control and crews completed searches. Once all hot spots were extinguished units began to stage for the fire investigator to arrive. Once X-Ray 197 arrived crews began to return to service.

Initial Response: Battalion 1, Engine 3, Engine 1, Truck 1 & Truck 4

Working Assignment: Battalion 3, HazMat 14 (Using HazMat 6), Rescue 17, Squad 8, 73 (PIO/EMS Liaison) & X-Ray 197 (Fire Investigator)

American Medic Response: Ops 700 & Medic 1
