Colorado Springs Garage Fire

At 21:47 on November 2nd, 2020 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to the 3500 block of David Lane for a possible structure fire. Truck 10 arrived and found a working garage fire and requested a working fire assignment. Engine 6 took initial command and directed units to get lines up the steep driveway. Battalion 4 arrived and assumed command. Engine 7 was able to get a knock on the fire after opening-up the garage door and determine several contents for the garage were on fire and began to assess whether the fire had spread to the rest of the home. Engine 6 requested a fan at the front door, and Battalion 4 then handed out assignments; Engine 7 and Engine 6 with the primary and secondary attack lines, Rescue 17 as RIT, and Truck 10 Ladders performing 2 horizontal vents. Truck 10 Irons began the primary search. Battalion 2 confirmed that the fire did not enter the living space and that the drywall is intact. Engine 6 was able to save a dog from a lower level bedroom. At 22:21, Command declared the fire under control. The fire left 2 people and their pet displaced due to smoke staining in a living area of the home and the fire is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal.

Working Fire Assignment: Battalion 2, Truck 9, 73 (EMS Liaison/PIO) & X-Ray 199 (Fire Investigator)
