At approximately 16:35 on February 23rd, 2020 Colorado Springs Fire Department & Cimarron Hills Fire Department were jointly dispatched to a traffic accident at N. Powers Blvd. at Palmer Park Blvd. Crews arrived to a 4 vehicle with trapped parties. Once en route, dispatch advised a party was possibly trapped and another patient was unconscious. Ladder 1331 then arrived on scene and advised there were 4 vehicles involved and confirmed a patient was trapped. Engine 17 arrived and assisted Ladder 1331 with extrication. Chief 1300 assumed command from Ladder 1331. Rescue 17 arrived and also assisted with extrication. Truck 8 arrived and blocked traffic to protect the scene. At 16:47 the trapped patient was extricated and transported to an area hospital; as well as a second patient was transported to an area hospital. At 17:04 units began to be released. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the CSPD. Additional information provided by Colorado Spring Fire Department
