Kiowa Structure House

On February 1st, 2020 Kiowa Fire Protection District responded with Elbert Fire Protection District responded to a report of a residential structure fire on Winding Meadow Dr. south of Forest Ridge. Units were advised that a wood pile approximately 20’ from the house and 10’ from a propane tank was on fire. Upon arrival crews found a large pile of fire wood on fire with 12’ flames. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire with no damage to the house or propane tank. The fire cause was determined to be discarded ashes from a fireplace.
