Pueblo West Garbage Truck Fire

Around 15:15 on August 13th, 2020 Pueblo West Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Hwy. 50 & Purcell Blvd. on reports of a garbage truck with flames shooting from the top. The truck was northbound on Purcell Blvd. and had not stopped and was not yet aware of the fire. Crews finally caught up with the truck and got it stopped near E. Platteville Blvd. & N. Tidy Dr. heading east. Chief 801 took command and crews began their attack. Ladder 851 was also requested to be able to attack the burning trash from the top of the truck. Units were on scene for about an hour getting the fire contained and put out. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
