Colorado Springs Structure Fire

At 11:16 on January 29th, 2020 Colorado Springs Public Safety Communications Center alerted Colorado Springs Fire Department to the 300 block of Rockrimmon Blvd. for a possible structure fire. Once Engine 12 went en route, they reported a large header showing and upgraded the incident to a working structure fire. Engine 12 arrived and reported active fire on the Delta side, established dual water supply, and established command. Truck 9 arrived and began to vent the structure, and Engine 18 with a crew of three pulled a backup line to Engine 12. Truck 9 advised the structure was a hoarder house and they were having a difficulty accessing the structure. Command then broadcasted that there was electricity still going into the structure. Engine 12 and Engine 18 advised the exterior fire was knocked down. Battalion 3 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Truck 19 to assumed RIT, and Truck 9 to overhaul the burning eves. HazMat 14 arrived and assumed Safety and Accountability. Truck 9 advised primary on first and secondary floors were clear, and Engine 18 verified the electricity had been turned off. Squad 7 arrived and assumed Rehab. Rescue 17 arrived and assumed RIT, Truck 19 was then reassigned to assist Truck 9 with overhauling the eves. Truck 19 advised there was no fire in the attic and Truck 9 also advised primary for all floors was clear. At 11:48 the fire was called under control, and units then began to rehab. Engine 18 requested a 1¾ inch attack line to wet down smoldering material inside the structure. Once Truck 9 finished rehab, they were assigned to relieve Truck 19 in overhaul. At 12:52 units began to be released from the scene. The fire is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal.
