Westminster Fill The Boot

Westminster Fire Department Firefighters Duran Cornelius and Bryan Leto each spent 24 hours on the roof of Station 2 with “Stuck on the Roof” from 08:00 on September 5th to 08:00 on September 7th, 2020. Both camped out in an effort to raise money for the MDA “Fill the Boot”. The firefighters endured scorching triple digit heat and a noisy rooftop HVAC unit while they attempted to sleep. The worldwide pandemic altered firefighter’s plans across the country where they normally gather money outside local stores. This year, the department was still able to collect change for people passing by while maintaining physical distancing. The firefighters lowered the boot to those who wished to donate into the bucket.
