Water Rescue Training

On August 21st, 2021 Arvada Fire Protection District firefighters conducted water rescue training at the Arvada Reservoir. Firefighters used outboard motor equipped inflatable boats to do multiple evolutions of a person in the water rescue. One firefighter would act as a “victim” in the water and the crew on the boat would approach the “victim” several different ways and then lift them into the boat. At the completion of the training Arvada Fire’s #1 fan, a youngster dressed in his turnout gear evaluated the firefighters work and was rewarded with some department swag.
