Aurora Grass Fire

On December 12th, 2021 at 16:38 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to S. Chambers Rd. and S. Evanston Way for a possible grass fire with structures threatened. Battalion Chief 3 arrived on scene with a grass fire extending to the fence. Engine 2 started fire attack with Engine 9 establishing the water supply. Engine 4 and Engine 6 positioned off E. Maple Place for fire attack and structure protection. Crews were able to contain the fire before it reached the house and crews started overhaul. The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
