Devil’s Thumb Chimney Fire

At 17:06 on November 5th, 2021 East Grand Fire Protection District #4 and Grand Fire Protection District #1 were dispatched to the 3500 block of County Rd. 83 in Tabernash at Heck’s Tavern for a possible chimney fire. On scene, crews found smoke showing from the building’s chimney and advised it was a working fire. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the chimney fire and checked for extension into the main building. Once it was confirmed the fire was confined to the chimney, crews began to pack up and return to service.
