Eagle Brush Fire

At approximately 18:16 on September 16th, 2021 Vail Public Safety Communications Center dispatched Greater Eagle Fire Protection District and Gypsum Fire Protection District to a wildland urban interface fire near Alpine Lumber at 111 Chambers Avenue. Eagle Police Department arrived on scene reporting an active fire in sage brush with 8 foot flames. Station 9 reported smoke visible and requested an additional brush unit from Eagle River. First due arrived to a small non-threatening brush fire along the railroad with a low spread potential, low rate of spread in a creeping manner and called an offensive attack, and cancelled Brush 12 from Eagle River. The fire was held to less than a 1/10 of an acre.
