On October 24th, 2021 at 10:38 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 1 was dispatched to an outside fire in the 2200 block of Jay St. in Edgewater. Engine 1 advised of smoke in the air from their station and requested a full response. Engine 1 arrived to a single-story residential with a fully involved detached garage in the alley and an arcing power line, and pulled 1 3/4 line for fire attack with Medic 11. Engine 16 assisted Engine 3 with the water supply, and District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Bravo-Charlie corner in the offensive strategy. Medic 1 assigned as medical, Engine 2 as RIT, and Tower 2 as the primary search in the main residents. Crews got the fire quickly controlled at 10:54 and started the overhaul. Several streets were closed in the area during the fire operations. There were no injuries and the fire started in a debris pile next to the garage.
