Grand Junction Structure Fire

In the early afternoon hours on August 31st, 2021 Grand Junction Regional Communication Center dispatched the Grand Junction Fire Department to a reported commercial structure fire at 631 S. 6th St. First-due arrived on scene to a single-story commercial structure with smoke showing and began investigation. Ambulance 1 crew arrived and split for fire attack and and traffic control. Crews located a fire inside the structure and made a quick knockdown, limiting further damage. The plug at S. 9th St. and D Rd. had a 2 1/2 supply line dropped to it but no additional water supply was needed. The cause of the fire is unknown and an investigator was called to the scene due it being an unoccupied structure. No injuries were reported and crews made quick work of the scene.
