Grand Junction Commercial Fire

At approximately 11:45 on June 7th, 2021 Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched for reports of smoke and flames coming from the roof of a commercial building on the 400 block of Park Dr. with people evacuating the building. Upon seeing the fire, a nearby Western Construction crew left their work site, got extinguishers from the building, and were able to put out the majority of the fire with fire extinguishers. At the scene, crews found the building fully evacuated with light smoke and flames  coming from the roof. Crews were able to get to the roof and put out the remaining fire and extensions into the wall and roof of the building, and also worked to clear smoke from and adjacent commercial office.
