Grand Junction Brush Fire

At 17:28 on June 7th, 2021 Grand Junction Fire Department Engine 5 was dispatched for a weed fire in the 2200 block of Shiprock Rd. with potentially threatening a structure. Battalion 1 self-dispatched and requested Brush 4 as part of the response. Engine 5 arrived to a weed fire in a field threatening a structure and initiated structure protection. Engine 5 achieved knockdown and Brush 4 assisted with mop-up. The cause was unknown and no structures were damaged. Fire was held to less than 5 acres / immediate field.
