Patrick Mahan Memorial

Denver Fire Department firefighter Patrick John Mahan memorial was held on July 23rd, 2021 at the Denver First Church in Englewood. A procession followed the service from the church to Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge, and went by several fire stations including Station 1. Mahan was 34 years-old and died in an off duty accident when his ATV he was riding crashed in Wiggins, Colorado on July 12th, 2021. Mahan graduated from Aurora Central High School. Following graduation, Patrick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he selflessly served his country for 8 years. Patrick’s military service awards include Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal in lieu of 3rd award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with 1 Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars. After being honorably discharged, he found a second brotherhood and has been with the Denver Fire Department since May of 2015, and was on a shift for Engine 1 and part of the water rescue team, which would of been 5 years at the end of this July. Patrick is survived by his mother, Margo; brother, Paul (Stefanie); sister, Andrea (Mike); and loving girlfriend, Lauren, which she is a Denver firefighter. He was a devoted uncle to Mackenzie, Avery, Ashley, Sofia, Maddie, and Mason. Additional information provided by Olinger.
