Pueblo County Highway 78 Fire
Highway 78 Fire
On January 21st, 2021 just before 11:00 Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Bureau (ESB) Fire was dispatched to the 6000 block of Hwy. 78 on a reported residential structure fire. Initial information from Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center was heavy smoke from the chimney and front porch of the house. Multiple units went enroute and mutual-aid was requested from Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District. Chief 401 arrived on scene and sized up a small single story residence with smoke showing from the front of the home. Engine 431 arrived shortly after and pulled a cross lay through the front door for fire attack. A small fire was found burning in and around the stove in the living room. Tender 191 arrived a short time later and laid a dry line to engine 431 and sent a crew to the roof to check for extension near the chimney. Crews inside the house quickly extinguished the fire and minimal extension was found. Some overhaul was required as crews pulled ceiling and some of the floor checking for hot spots. The fire was called out and units cleared the scene about an hour later. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
