On July 25th, 2021 West Metro Fire Rescue christen the new Engine 2 at Station 2, 1545 Robb St. in Lakewood. During the ceremony, a bucket of water from old Engine 2 (P62) was carried “bucket brigade style” to the new Engine 2 (P77) and poured into the tank. Then, with the assistance of some junior firefighters, the new engine was washed down and dried. A new apparatus generally spends about 15 to 20 years as a front line “rig” and then transitions to reserve status. The old Engine 2 was moved to Station 6 to become Engine 6. The new Engine 2 is a 2021 Pierce Velocity (35230) has a 1250 gpm pump and 500 gallon water tank with foam.  Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
