Westminster Shed Fire

At 17:00 on May 16th, 2021 Westminster Fire Department responded with auto-aid from Arvada Fire Protection District to a reported structure fire in the area of W. 78th Ave. & Osceola St. Multiple 911 callers reported large flames from behind the house. Engine 1 and Medic 1 arrived first on scene to a shed on fire with combustibles inside. Engine 1 pulled a 1 3/4 line for fire attack operations in the offensive strategy. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and assumed command and assigned Engine 2 to secure a water supply to Engine 1, and SAM 1 to complete a 360. Engine 3 arrived on scene and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 1. Truck 2 arrived and used the chainsaw and rotor saw to cut a chain link fence to help gain better access to the fire. Dispatched advised command of some burn victims and two patients were transported to a trauma center via Medic 54. Crews were able to contain the fire to the original shed, but it was a complete loss.
