Westminster Vegetation Fire

At 13:13 on September 7th, 2021 Westminster Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in the Stoney Creek Golf Course, 13939 W. 96th Ave. Engine 5 arrived to a working large vegetation fire next to the dam and started fire attack on the north of the fire. Engine 3 arrived and assigned to attack the fire from the southside. Battalion 1 arrived to a working fire moving south and requested a brush truck from Arvada Fire Protection District. Brush 57 with Engine 57 arrived and assisted with the south flank. The fire was put under control at 13:40, and crews worked an extended overhaul. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was a spark caused by a mower striking a rock during mowing operations near the golf course. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District
