The Wet Mountain Fire Protection District and off duty firefighters from surrounding agencies to help host a training by running a prop and providing feedback to firefighters at their training facility in Westcliffe on September 1st, 2021. Several Frecom911 dispatchers also attended and helped dispatch units and observed as they trained. Crews were able to train on several scenarios including structure fires, MVA with entrapment, and vehicle fires using a home made car fire prop built by one of the other departments firefighters, which was donated to the district for training. The car fire prop uses propane ran throughout the vehicle which has been completely stripped down to a shell. It is ran from a podium away from the vehicle and can be controlled to have fire in the engine compartment, the cabin, and the trunk to help make a more realistic fire scene. Wet Mountain firefighters took turns rotating through the different scenarios working through the rain and darkness as the night went on. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
