Woodland Park Brush Fire

At 15:38 on February 12th, 2021 Northeast Teller County Fire Protection District responded to a report of smoke in the area on Sun Valley Dr. On scene, Engine 71 and Brush 71 found a small brush fire and were able to contain quickly and were able to keep the impacted area less than 1 acre with the assistance of the U.S. Forest Service Module located in Woodland Park. During the incident a brief evacuation order was given due to the fire’s proximity homes, but was recalled at 16:30, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
