Adams County Chimney Fire

At 00:29 on December 29th, 2022 Adams County Fire Rescue with Westminster Fire Department and South Adams County Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at E. 66th and Downing St. in North Washington. AdCom advised flames from the chimney and everyone evacuated from Adams County Sherriff deputy on scene. Engine 13 arrived on scene to small two-story residential with flames and sparks from the chimney, pulled a 1 3/4 with Medic 13 for fire control. Engine 14 secured the water supply to Engine 13. Battalion 11 arrived and took over command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 11 with utilities and Medic 14 with medical. Truck 11 put their stick to the chimney with water. The fire was put under control at 00:51 and crews started an extended overhaul and the investigation. No  injuries were reported and investigators determined the fire started in the chimney.
