Adams County Defensive Fire

On December 22nd, 2022 at 19:33 Adams County Fire Rescue with auto-aid from Westminster Fire Department responded to a fire in the area of W. 60th Ave. & Federal Blvd. in Berkley. Adcom advised that the building was reported to be abandoned and visible flames from multiple callers. Engine 12 arrived to a small one-story fully engulfed abandoned building, pulled a 1 3/4 for quick attack in the defensive strategy. Crews worked the fire in -14 degrees weather before getting the fire quickly under control. The fire was determined to be a homeless warming fire and intentionally set.
