2nd Alarm Apartment Fire

On November 8th, 2022 at 10:01 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 11900 block of E. Kansas Drive. Ladder 2 arrived to a two-story multi-family with heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor and requested a 2nd alarm. Engine 6 arrived and easbalished the water supply and Ladder 8 went to the roof for vertical ventilation. Crews found heavy fire on the Charlies side and in the attic space. Battalion Chief 2 arrived and assumed command. Engine 7 pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and Engine 5 secured a 2nd water supply. Engine 4 assigned to assist with search. The fire was put under control at 10:56 and crews worked for an extended time with overhaul and the investigation. One patient with non life threatening injuries was transported to an area hospital, and other patients are assessed on scene. 4 apartments were damaged from the fire and all occupants from 16 units are displaced, and the American Red Cross was requested to the scene for support.
