On August 1st, 2022 at approximately 16:50 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential fire at 1095 S. Macon St. Engine 4, stationed a few block away, reported heavy black smoke as they made their way to the scene. Firefighters arrived within minutes of the call and found heavy fire at the back of the residence. Crews spent about 15 minutes extinguishing the blaze and another half hour checking for hot spots and conducting overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
