Residential Structure Fire

At 20:08 on October 31st, 2022 Loveland Emergency Communications Center (LECC) dispatched Berthoud Fire Protection District and Loveland Fire Rescue Authority to the report of residential structure fire in the 500 block of Katmai Court in Berthoud. Engine 61 reported a working fire from several blocks away. Engine 61 arrived to a working fire in the attached garage of a single-family home, and reported fire extension into the living area and pulled two lines for fire attack. After getting a good knock on the burning cars in the garage crews moved into the living area and extinguished the fire. A dog was inside the home upon arrival of fire crews but exited the home quickly upon firefighters entering the home. The dog was treated by Thompson Valley EMS medics and released to its family on scene. No injuries were reported and the American Red Cross is providing assistance to the occupants. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Berthoud Fire Protection District.
