North Metro House Fire

On June 27th, 2022 at 15:20 North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Agate Way in Broomfield. Broomfield Public Safety Communications Center advised RP reporting a fire in the backyard and threatening the house. Battalion 61 arrived to a small single-story single-family with a working fire on the Charlie side, start a major incident tone and started to checked for evacuations. Battalion 61 helped safely evacuate the occupants out of the structure, requested additional medic to the scene and Xcel for downed power lines on the Charlie side. BC61 updated the incident to a fully involved structure and the first due engine to start defensive operations on the Bravo side, and Engine 65 arrived and pulled a line in for fire attack and scoured a water supply. Engine 64 assigned to the Charlie side for fire attack and Medic 64 as medical. Truck 62 pulled a 2nd line off Engine 65 to the Alpha side. The fire was put under control at 15:50. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring homes. However, there was significant fire and smoke damage to the backyard, fence and home, making the house uninhabitable for the residents. The cause is under investigation.
