On July 27th, 2022 at 11:53 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 800 block of S. Johnson Court in Lakewood. Engine 3 arrived to a medium size two-family single-family with a working fire with flames on the outside of the second floor extending through the attic on the Alpha side, pulled 1 3/4 for offensive exterior attack. Engine 4 arrived and established the water supply. Special Ops 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 7 with interior search with Medic 2 and check the attic for extension. Firefighters got the fire under control at 12:08 and started overhaul. The residents escaped just as the first engines arrived. One resident was evaluated, but not transported.
