West Metro Trailer Fire

On October 10th, 2022 at 17:04 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 5550 block of W. 16th Ave. in Lakewood. Sam 1 arrived with Engine 1 and Medic 11 to a full involved trailer, Engine 1 secured their own water supply on Depew St. and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack with Medic 1 in the defensive strategy. The fire was contained to the one home, despite close proximity of adjacent homes in the trailer park. Two people were evaluated by paramedics, but not transported. Investigator has determined that this fire was caused by an oxygen concentrator that was plugged into an extension cord which overheated and ignited.
