On June 3rd, 2022 at 04:06 South Metro Fire Rescue Engine 16 responded to a unknown fire near C-470 and Santa Fe Drive in Littleton. Littleton Police officers arrived to 8201 S. Santa Fe Drive at Wolhurst with a fully involved trailer on fire and the call was upgraded. Engine 16 arrived to a fully involved trailer and pulled a line in for fire attack in the offensive strategy and established their own water supply. Battalion Chief 1 arrived on scene and assumed command and assigned Medic 16 to assist with fire attack. Tower 18 arrived and split crews with fire attack and the primary search. Engine 19 arrived and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 16 for fire attack and Medic 18 assigned as medical. The fire was quickly put under control, but an extensive overhaul to check for hot spots had firefighters working into dawn. Although initial reports stated that one party was missing, the person was found and was safe. One resident woke up to working smoke alarms and was able to safely evacuate. No injuries were reported and the cause was accidental due to improperly discarded rags. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
