Around 02:00 on February 16th, 2022 Loveland Emergency Communications Center (LECC) dispatched Loveland Fire Rescue Authority Engine 41 to lumber on fire in near West 8th Street and North Garfield Avenue in Loveland. Upon arrival Engine 41 found several large stacks of railroad ties with one of the stacks fully involved with fire. Engine 41 up graded the fire and Engine 45, Tower 46, and Battalion 41 were added to the ticket. Engine 45 laid into Engine 41 and deck guns were used to extinguish the bulk of the fire and to protect the other stacks of railroad ties. A front end loader was requested from City of Loveland Public Works and it did all of the heavy lifting to spread out the involved stack of ties. Firefighters and the loader were on scene for a couple hours. Burlington Northern Railroad was notified of the situation. There were no injuries reported and the fire is under investigation.
