Mock Motor Vehicle Crash

On April 21st, 2022 Pueblo West Fire Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, American Medical Response, and Flight for Life put on a mock motor vehicle crash for Pueblo West High School juniors and seniors. With prom coming up the objective is to show students the dangers of drinking and driving or even distracted driving. One bad decision can ruin what is meant to be a great night filled with memories. The students got to watch as crews responded to the mock crash and triaged patients, treated the wounded, covered up the deceased, and arrested the suspected DUI driver. The scene was made more realistic as parents showed up yelling and screaming as they found their children in the wreckage either injured or deceased. It was a sobering reminder for not only the students but everyone to remember the dangers and to be responsible anytime you get in a vehicle. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
