Ice Rescue Training

West Metro Fire Rescue conducted ice training at Bear Creek Lake Park, 14550 Morrison Rd. in Lakewood on February 9th, 2022. Firefighters from Station 8 practice life-saving skills in Soda Lake. Station 8 is home to the West Metro Dive Team and is also part of the Metro Dive Rescue, which is made up of divers from four different agencies in the metro area including Westminster Fire Department, South Metro Fire Rescue and Thornton Fire Department. West Metro reminds this time of year, when lakes and ponds are frozen, they see people or pets falling through unstable ice.
