South Metro Basement Fire

On March 6th, 2023 at approximately 12:03 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a multi-family residential structure on S. Dayton St. in Arapahoe County. When the caller reported smoke inside their basement and that their smoke alarms were sounding, dispatchers quickly advised the caller to evacuate their home. First arriving firefighters reported active smoke, established a water supply and completed a primary search. The fire was contained to the basement area after checking for extension in the walls. No injuries have been reported. The fire was investigated by the SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office and determined to be electrical in nature. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
