Aurora Vegetation Fire

On April 12th, 2023 at approximately 13:08 Aurora Fire Rescue Rescue 2 reported a large header in the area of 17th St. and Fitzsimons Pkwy. Units in the area observed smoke and found a moving vegetation fire east of the railroad tracks along the Toll Gate Creek. Command on scene had Fitzsimons Parkway between 17th Pl. and the RTD R Line shut down for water supply. Crews were on scene for about an hour containing the spread and mopping up hot spots. Fire was kept to under 2 acres and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation.
