Officer Injured During Parade

On June 15th, 2023 at around 11:30 during the Denver Nuggets Championship Parade in Downtown Denver, a Denver Police Officer was accidentally ran over by Denver Fire Department Tower 15 at 13th Ave. & Cherokee St. near were the parade was to end. The DPD officer was trying to protect fans who had gone around the barriers and crowded Tower 15 when he was struck and pulled under the front passenger wheel and trapping him. The officer was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Tower 15 had several nuggets players including Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray riding on board when the accident happened. The accident is under investigation by the Denver Police Department.
