La Junta Camper Fire

At 18:00 on December 10th, 2023 La Junta Fire Department responded to a reported camper in the 500 block of E 22nd St. on fire possibly threatening other structures. Upon arrival of Deputy Chief and Engine 1, a camper was fully engulfed and confirmed nobody inside of it. A quick attack was done to knock down the fire on the camper and the surrounding area to make sure the fire didn’t spread to other structures. Overhaul began once the fire was under control. The cause is undetermined at this time. Crews returned to service with no injuries. Information provided by the La Junta Fire Department
