West Metro Outbuilding Fire

On April 8th, 2023 at 06:00 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire at the car wash at 5800 block of W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. Engine 1 arrived to heavy fire showing from the back of an auto body shop on Fenton St. with a possible small shed-outbuilding on fire with multiple vehicles. Engine 1 pulled a 1 3/4 line in from tank water for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 3 arrived and set-up the water supply to Engine 1. District 1 arrived and assumed Fenton command on the Alpha side. Firefighters worked after the fire was put under control to mitigate leaking gasoline.
