On March 5th, 2023 at 12:11 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 7700 block of W. 5th Ave. in Lakewood. Engine 3 arrived on scene to a small one-story single-family duplex structure with nothing showing and started the investigation. Engine 3 found smoke from the vents in the attic space, started fire attack and pulled 1 3/4 to the front door with Medic 2 and Medic 3. Engine 1 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 3 and District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Delta side in the offensive strategy. Tower 2 assigned to primary search and Engine 2 pulled a backup line and assisted Engine 3. Medic 11 arrived and assigned as medical. The fire was contained to the attic, but caused significant damage. Three people were displaced. The cause was electrical wiring in the attic.
