On January 30th, 2023 just after 17:00 Fort Collins 911 (FC911) dispatched Poudre Fire Authority to a rescue call for a horse that was down and couldn’t get up. Crews arrived on scene to find the horse named “Traeger” on the ground. He had gotten caught in his blanket and was unable to get back to his feet. Helping Traeger up took a collaboration between the boarding facility, PFA firefighters, the CSU vet who responded to the scene, and The City of Fort Collins Utilities who responded with a boom truck to help lift him.
